Currently, the private healthcare institution «Clinical Hospital» Russian Railways-Medicine «in Astrakhan» has a powerful modern medical, diagnostic and preventive facilities. It includes 2 polyclinics (in the city of Astrakhan and at the Upper Baskunchak station) and an outpatient clinic in the settlement of Nizhny Baskunchak with a total capacity of 650 visits per shift, a round-the-clock hospital for 185 beds, which includes a therapeutic department, a surgical department with gynecological beds, a neurological department, urology department and medical rehabilitation department. There are 67 beds in the day hospital. On the basis of the hospital, there are 3 departments of the Astrakhan Basic Medical University, the students of the Astrakhan Basic Medical College are being trained. The enterprises have 9 points of pre-trip medical examination.

About 6,000 patients receive hospital treatment annually, and over 1,400 surgical operations (including endoscopic) are performed annually. More than 63 thousand patients visit the polyclinic annually, about 260 thousand visits are carried out.
